🥋 Black Belt Rank Testing

Black belt rank testing will take place immediately following camp on Sunday. The testing fee is $450, due immediately after testing.

🥋 Black Belt Promotion Guidelines

• Dan rank testing and promotions may only occur when Professor Jay is present.
• 1st and 2nd Dan require a formal physical test.
• 3rd through 9th Dan are awarded as recommended promotions.
• Students must attend at least two camps before being eligible to test for Shodan (1st Dan).
• Students must be at least 16 years old to test for 1st Dan.

🥋 Eligibility Requirements

1st Dan (Shodan)

• Completion of all Kyu ranks
• Successful completion of the physical rank test

2nd–9th Dan

• Advancement is based on recommended time in current rank
  • SEE THE TABLE BELOW AS THIS HAS CHANGED SINCE 2025
• Physical testing is required only for 2nd Dan
• Taget rank is the rank one is working toward. See the table below:
