We’ve had a great start in 2026 with strong showing of support from our members at the camps in Houston, St. Louis, France and of course the Will Higginbotham-Bernice Jay-Wally Jay Indy camp. Lets finish the 2nd half of 2026 strong! Looking forward to seeing everyone on the mat soon!

Camp/Seminar Updates
The SCJ Indy Midwest Camp has officially been renamed the Will Higginbotham-Bernice Jay-Wally Jay SCJ Midwest Camp in honor of these remarkable individuals. We had an amazing turnout and outstanding training all weekend, wrapping up with black belt rank testing on Sunday. Congratulations to everyone who earned their next rank!





A new addition this year was a kids’ training session for ages nine to twelve, offering two hours of instruction with Professor Rhodes, Professor Stines, and 2nd Dan Lacey Hooie.

When you step into Professor Jay’s Small Circle Jujitsu University, you’ll discover around twenty different training modules covering a wide range of topics. These go beyond the standard syllabus modules, offering extra learning opportunities you might not find elsewhere. Learning is an ongoing journey, and these supplemental modules add valuable experiences worth exploring!


Don’t be shy! Get involved! Do you have an idea for training that you think other members of SCJ might be interested in?
If so, please contact Professor David Rhodes and let him know:
- The topic
- If you would like to write it yourself
- Have someone else write it
- Or collaborate
By doing this the training will be:
- Peer driven
- Relevant to member needs
- Dynamic
- Constantly Updated

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
Do you know what makes up the Small Circle Jujitsu organization? There is a lot of work by many individuals to keep the organization thriving and growing.
- Members Like you who support and contribute to Small Circle Jujitsu! Don’t be passive in your role, encourage others to become part of the SCJ family.
- Instructors and dojo owners who work daily to keep the art alive, guide training, and ensure high-quality instruction both on and off the mat. You may not see all the work off the mat so thank your instructor!
- Advisors who provide technical guidance in support of Small Circle Jujitsu.
- Regional Representatives in the United States who answer questions and assist dojo owners and members.
- Representatives for Europe, South America, and North America who support dojos and members in their global regions.
- An official legal Board of Directors responsible for various aspects of running the organization.
- A Vice President and President who provide oversight and guidance.
In addition to the people, the Small Circle Jujitsu Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the longevity and continued vitality of the institution for many years to come.
